FLOOR REPAIR AND LEVELING.

National Lift Installation, Inc. We have built a reputation on making sure that the substrate (flooring under the carpet) is in the correct condition before the floor covering goes down.

With so many types of moisture issues and different specifications for hundreds of products, it is important to do it right. Each manufacturer has his/her own set of requirements you must adhere to in order to be covered by the warranty,

We certainly take pride in doing it right the first time!

Floor Preparation

Avoiding floorcovering failure is simple but the extra steps involved are necessary.  Preparing the floor for the proper installation is huge in today's market. With so many types of carpet and backings, along with the plethora of previous subfloors that likely have a multitude of different adhesives from previous installations, a lot could go wrong.  The good news is that it only takes a little bit of information to make sure it's all done correctly.

NLI will always test the moisture content (calcium chloride) of your slab or concrete floor, check the alkalinity level of your subfloor, and will establish if there is any previous adhesive that could cause a chemical reaction.

In the pictures above, you can see a worst-case scenario.  This is a large bank building in San Leandro CA that had 30 year old Gyp-Crete underlayment that was failing on the entire 2nd floor (ten thousand square yards).  We had to tear out the old carpet, and then chip up all failing substrate.  Finally, we 'floated' the entire area with Shönox AP.  Keep in mind that we worked under and around the systems furniture, saving the customer from the expense of dismantling and re-installing it.  Just by viewing the before and after pictures you can see the finished product was amazing.  Keep in mind that this particular project was the extreme and took several days while most jobs are completed with just a few hours of prep.
